I have been painting watercolors since I was in school. A lot have been on the road – painted on-site when traveling, quickly done to catch the moment. I have always preferred the spontaneous energy of sketches and quick small works, as opposed to working an image for along time in the studio. Still, in recent years I have gone back in the studio to develop larger works. Maintaining the freshness of on-site painting is the challenge.
